Welcome Ballot Access 2010

We need a bare minimum of 44,000 signatures to qualify for November ballot access in Texas for the 2010 elections.  We're aiming for three times that amount to overcome all objections by the Texas Secretary of State's office.

This petition will qualify all of the Constitution Party candidates on the 2010 ballot in November.  This includes:

David Kirkland - Governor
Chuck Burnett -& Attorney General
James Pennington, CPA - State Comptroller
Brian York - State Agriculture Commissioner
Dan Zavorka - State Board of Education and other candidates down ballot.

Ballot Access Instructions:

1.  Download and print the ballot access form. http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-8af.pdf
2.  Anyone may circulate the petition but is prohibited from signing a petition which they circulate.  If you would like to sign the petition simply find someone else who is circulating the petition so you can sign theirs and vice versa.
3.  The first signatures can legally be collected Wednesday, March 10th.
4.  Only Texas registered voters (well over 13.5 million), who abstained from voting in another party's  primary election, are legally allowed to sign our petition.  That means over 11,400,000 Texas registered voters are eligible to sign our petition.  80% of Texas registered voters are eligible.
5.  Your name, as a petition circulator, will go in the box in the top right hand corner of the page.
6.  Constitution Party of Texas will go on both blank lines in the paragraph before the 10 blank petition lines.
7.  Each person who is asked to sign the petition shall be read that paragraph.
8.  If they agree, they will then date, print their name, autograph it, write their residential address along with city, state and zip, the county they live in and either their voter registration number (found on their voter registration card) or their date of birth.  Have them print and sign as legibly as possible.
9.  Each petition form must be notarized.  The blank spaces are to be completed in front of the public notary at the time they are being notarized.
10.  All petitions must be mailed to Eric Kirkland, Post Office Box 2911, Georgetown, TX 78627-2911 no later than May 19th.  Or they may be turned into Eric in person before May 21st.
11. This allows for collation and preparation time before final submission of all petitions to the Texas Secretary of State's office on May 24th.
12. Please use ONE form per county so that everyone who signs one page is from the same county.

If you would like to help with ballot access, to help get David Kirkland on the ballot for Governor, as well as the other Constitution Party candidates, please call Eric Kirkland at 512-807-8317.  If the line is busy, please leave your name and number and someone will return your call.
